I plan to cover some fascinating aspects of mathematics that are often unmentioned in regular classes. We’ll explore topics such as:
Geometric visualization of binomial expansions and their underlying patterns
A geometric interpretation of summation series
Shortcuts for finding square roots, including those of decimal numbers
The fundamental reason why division by zero is undefined
The difference between "undefined" and "indeterminate" in mathematical contexts
Why tan(90°) is undefined
Useful mental math tricks to enhance calculation speed
My focus is on teaching you how to approach problems logically rather than relying on rote memorization. These are concepts and problem-solving techniques that I use regularly.
To give you some background, I won 3rd prize in the Asia-Pacific region in a Mathematics Olympiad competition, and achieved World Ranks 5 and 9 in the IEEE Video & Image Processing Cup 2022 and the IEEE Signal Processing Cup 2022, respectively. If I identify students with similar potential, I’m eager to mentor them for competitions such as the Math, Physics, and Chemistry Olympiads.
Note - The students are selected by administering a competency test.
