Dhammika Atapattu had his education at Royal College, Colombo and then at Edith Cowan University,Australia.He also Worked in Abu Dhabi as a People’s Bank Representative.
Dhammika Atapattu has been an active participant in the fascinating world of quizzing for over a decade. He was the captain of peoples bank quiz team from 2006-2011 and he was also the Team Leader of the people’s Bank Marketing Dept Team which won the bank’s Interbank Quiz for 3 years.
His enthusiasm continued to grow and in 2009 he formed his own quiz team to participate in more challenging Open Quizzes and the team was placed among the top 3 in the Wisdom Quiz in 2010 and 2011.
Dhammika was also the Team leader of the Serendib Toastmasters Club Quiz Team which became runners up at the CIMA Toastmasters Quiz in 2011 and 2012 respectively.
In the year 2011 Dhammika was invited join the No.1 Quiz Team in Sri Lanka ‘Vindana Ariyawansa’ . Since then it has been an eventful journey and their performance has been as follows,

1. Winners of the coveted ‘Global Commerce Quiz’ 2012
2. Winners of inaugural ‘Devans Quiz’ 2012 conducted by Maliyadewa College,Kurunegala
3. Winners - the European Union Quiz 2012 conducted by the European Chamber of Commerce, Sri Lanka.
4. 1st Runners up in the Sri Lankan Masterminds 2012 and the first Ever ‘Japan Quiz’ 2012.
5. Winners of the ‘Sri Lankan Master Minds 2013’ which is considered the Flagship quiz in the Sri Lankan Quizzing calendar.
6. Winners in the SLASSCOM Quizathon Quiz 2013.
7. Winners in the Inaugural CIM-Wisdom Quiz conducted by the Chartered Institute of Management in September 2014
Moreover Dhammika was one of the winners of the ‘ITN DFCC Mind Star’ reality quiz show in 2011.
Taking a step further Dhammika took in to quiz mastering,questions compiling and forming and Training of quiz teams and so far he has conducted the following quiz competitions

6. Allianz Inter Departmental quiz-January 2020

In February 2018 Dhammika was hired as their quiz Coach by Ratnavali Balika Vidyalaya,Gampaha .He trained them For Sirasa Pentathlon TV quiz in 2018
Dhammika continues to navigate the sea of knowledge and says that quizzes are serious entertainment and are a pastime whose purpose can be serious or light hearted as one wishes.
